India, June 9 -- India on Monday urged its citizens in Israel and Iran to exercise utmost caution, remain vigilant, and avoid all non-essential travel amid the deteriorating security situation in the region following a fresh exchange of hostilities between the two countries.

The advisory comes after Iran launched dozens of missiles toward Israel on Sunday evening in response to Israeli strikes on Beirut's southern suburbs. Following the Iranian attack, Israel reportedly carried out retaliatory strikes targeting central and western Iran, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
