India, Oct. 3 -- India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the men's cricket final at the 2026 Asian Games on Saturday to win the gold medal.

Led by captain Shreyas Iyer, India held their nerve in a thrilling final to add another gold to their Asian Games medal tally.

India's victory over Pakistan also secured the country's first gold medal in men's cricket at the Asian Games.

The win comes after India posted 211 for six in the first innings, with Abhishek Sharma smashing 61 off 28 balls and Tilak Varma contributing an unbeaten 51 off 22 balls.

Pakistan were unable to chase down the target as India's bowlers defended the total to seal a 19-run victory and the gold medal.
