India, May 29 -- The Indian women's hockey team registered a strong win over Australia in the third match of the four-game friendly series in Perth, taking a 2-1 lead in the contest.
India secured victory with two field goals, showing disciplined defence and effective counterattacks throughout the match. The opening two quarters remained goalless as both sides maintained a tight defensive structure.
The breakthrough came in the third quarter when Sonam scored in the 36th minute to give India the lead. The visitors then doubled their advantage in the final quarter through Lalremsiami in the 49th minute.
