India, June 24 -- India and the United States have concluded two days of ministerial-level discussions on the proposed first phase of the bilateral trade agreement (BTA), which was announced earlier this year, the government said on Wednesday.

The talks were held in New Delhi between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. Both sides reviewed progress in ongoing negotiations and explored ways to further deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to officials, the discussions are part of efforts to finalise the first phase of the agreement before the expiry of the US-imposed 10 per cent temporary tariffs on all trading partners, set to end on July 24.
