India, May 16 -- India and the United Arab Emirates signed major agreements on energy cooperation, strategic petroleum reserves and defence partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Abu Dhabi on Friday.

One of the key announcements includes the UAE storing 30 million barrels of crude oil in India's strategic petroleum reserves, strengthening India's energy security amid rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

During delegation-level talks, PM Modi met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discussed ways to deepen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
