India, March 11 -- A delegation of Indian Foreign Service officer trainees visited Indian Army installations at Likabali, Aalo and forward locations at Mechuka to gain a first-hand understanding of ground realities in remote frontier areas and the operational role of the Army in safeguarding national borders.

The visit aimed to familiarise the trainee diplomats with the security environment in the sector and the factors that shape sustained border management.

During the programme, the trainees were taken to key installations and forward areas where they were briefed on the operational environment, logistics management and the challenges of maintaining an effective military presence in high altitude and difficult terrain.
