India, Sept. 9 -- Police detained several polytechnic students during a protest against Government Order 97 at Raidurgam in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The students staged a road blockade near LIDCAP, demanding the withdrawal of the order and clarity from the Telangana government about their academic future. They oppose plans to bring polytechnic colleges under the Young India Skills University.

Police asked the protesters to disperse, but the students continued the demonstration. Videos posted on social media showed police personnel forcibly removing and dragging some protesters from the road.
