India, Aug. 6 -- A trainee IPS officer, identified as Uday Krishna Reddy accused of sexually assaulting a woman co-trainee at the SVPNPA here, was questioned by police on Thursday, August 6, after being taken into custody.

A local court on Wednesday, August 5, granted the police two days' custody of the accused, who was arrested in the case and remanded to judicial custody on July 29.

He was booked on July 18 on charges of sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking and attempt to murder following a complaint lodged by a fellow trainee at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy.

Police had sought seven days' custody of the accused for further interrogation, but the court granted only two days.
