Himanta Biswa Sarma takes oath as Assam Chief Minister for second term
India, May 12 -- Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term at the Veterinary College ground in Khanapara, Guwahati, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior Union ministers and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states.
Along with Sarma, four legislators from the NDA alliance were also sworn in as ministers in the new Assam government.
Among those inducted into the cabinet were BJP leaders Rameswar Teli and Ajanta Neog, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader Atul Bora and Bodoland People's Front (BPF) MLA Charan Boro.
