India, July 6 -- Himachal Pradesh Police have issued an advisory urging motorists to avoid parking vehicles near dry, weak or roadside trees during rain and strong winds, following an incident in Shimla where a dried tree fell on parked vehicles causing damage.

The police cautioned that during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain and gusty winds, weakened trees become highly unstable and can pose serious risks to life and property. Officials said such incidents are increasingly being reported in hill regions during the monsoon season.
