India, Aug. 26 -- In a big relief for Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday restrained the police from taking coercive measures against him in three criminal cases till November 30.

After hearing both sides, the Bench of Justice Saugato Bhattacharya directed Banerjee to cooperate with the police, holding, however, that interrogation was presently not necessary. The Court also directed the police to serve a notice to the TMC MP from Diamond Harbour at least 48 hours before the hearing and submit a report before it regarding the progress of the investigation process.
