India, May 27 -- A woman from Gujarat living in the United States was shot dead in an alleged robbery-related incident, according to preliminary reports from local authorities.

The victim, identified as Meghna Patel, originally belonged to Jatral village in Vijapur taluka of Mehsana district. She had reportedly settled in the United States with her family several years ago.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred inside a store where an unidentified man allegedly opened fire on her, causing fatal injuries. CCTV footage from the scene has surfaced, showing a suspect entering the premises dressed in a tracksuit, jacket, gloves, face covering and cap.
