India, May 26 -- A 45-year-old woman from Gujarat, Meghnaben Patel, was shot dead in a shocking incident during a suspected robbery attempt at a supermarket in Virginia, United States.

According to reports, CCTV footage captured a man entering a nearly empty store and approaching the counter where Meghnaben Patel had been working for the past 10 years. The video shows the suspect briefly speaking with her before suddenly pulling out a gun and opening fire.

The attacker then climbed over the counter and continued shooting before fleeing the store, leaving the victim critically injured. The entire incident was recorded on surveillance cameras installed inside the supermarket.
