Gujarat restricts convoy facility for CM, deputy CM
India, May 14 -- In a major administrative move aimed at encouraging fuel conservation and reducing unnecessary expenditure, the Gujarat Government has decided to withdraw official convoy facilities for ministers placed under the "non-category" classification.
The decision follows PM Narendra Modi's recent appeal to reduce petrol and diesel consumption across the country. Acting on the call, the state administration has begun implementing several austerity measures involving official travel and security arrangements.
Under the revised protocol, only Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will continue to receive limited convoy facilities. All other ministers will no longer be entitled to official convoys...
