Gujarat pushes Vehicle Free Day to promote fuel conservation
India, May 16 -- The Gujarat Government has initiated steps to promote fuel conservation and sustainable transport practices by encouraging a weekly "Motor Vehicle-Free Day" across Government offices in the State.
According to official communication issued by Governor Acharya Devvrat, district collectors and municipal commissioners have been urged to encourage Government employees to adopt carpooling, use public transport and reduce dependence on private vehicles.
