India, May 18 -- A 25-year-old woman in Greater Noida has died under suspicious circumstances, with her family alleging that she was murdered over an unmet dowry demand.

The incident took place in the Jalpura area under Ecotech-III police station limits, where the woman allegedly fell from the rooftop of her in-laws' house late Sunday night.

Her family claims that she was subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment for dowry since her marriage 17 months ago.

According to her father, the in-laws had demanded an additional Rs.51 lakh and a luxury car, over and above the dowry already given during the wedding.
