Govt to roll out 300 new electric buses
India, July 7 -- The Delhi Government will roll out around 300 new electric buses on Tuesday, strengthening its bus fleet across the city.
According to officials, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will launch the buses in the RK Puram area of South Delhi, along with laying the foundation stone for a new bus depot.
Currently, Delhi has around 4,500 electric buses and a total of around 7,000 buses, making the national capital a city with one of the biggest EV bus fleets in the country.
The Rekha Gupta Government on June 30 notified the Delhi Electric Vehicles Policy 2026, which aims to accelerate EV adoption, improve air quality and create a supportive ecosystem for electric mobility.
