India, Feb. 23 -- The Delhi Government has revised the names of nine metro stations, retaining 12 as originally proposed, following a review by the State Names Authority (SNA) chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Out of the 21 station names proposed in the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the Authority decided to keep 12 unchanged, modify seven and completely rename two stations.
Announcing the decision on Sunday, the Chief Minister said metro stations are not just transit points but also represent the identity and cultural character of the areas they serve.
