India, June 16 -- The Delhi Government will launch an ambitious citywide plantation campaign aimed at planting 70 lakh saplings across the national capital. The Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, herself reviewed the preparations for the initiative at a high-level meeting on Monday.

Named the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam - Delhi Mega Plantation Drive 2026", the campaign is planned as a large public participation programme and is expected to involve citizens, educational institutions, resident welfare associations, religious organisations, and community groups across Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to participate in different phases of the campaign.
