India, April 6 -- The Delhi Government has earmarked Rs 22,236 crore for environmental initiatives under its 2026-27 Budget, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announcing a comprehensive "Green Budget" aimed at tackling pollution and building a sustainable future for the Capital.
The allocation accounts for about 21.44 per cent of the total state budget of Rs 1,03,700 crore, marking a significant policy shift towards environment-focused governance. The plan assigns responsibility to 17 departments and mandates that all Government spending be aligned with green objectives.
