India, Sept. 19 -- Two passengers arriving from Dubai were intercepted at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport after customs officials recovered 2.16 kilograms of gold bars from them, officials said on Saturday.

According to a Customs statement, Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officers discreetly followed the male and female passengers from the flight gate based on specific intelligence and profiling.

The officers noticed the woman speaking to the man near a washroom close to the baggage belts. Both were subsequently intercepted while attempting to exit through the Customs Green Channel.
