Gold jumps to 7-week high of Rs 1.53 lakh/10g
India, Aug. 7 -- Gold prices rallied for the third straight session, soaring by Rs 3,800 to a seven-week high of Rs 1.53 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday, aided by rupee depreciation and firm global trends.
The yellow metal of 99.9 per cent purity climbed Rs 3,800 to Rs 1,53,800 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes) from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,50,000 per 10 grams.
Gold had last settled near these levels at Rs 1,53,440 per 10 grams on June 18.
Silver also advanced Rs 2,100 to Rs 2,34,800 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes) from Rs 2,32,700 per kg in the preceding session.
