Goa voters left out of SIR in catch-22, says Bombay HC
India, Oct. 6 -- The Bombay High Court The Bombay High Court on Monday observed that voters excluded from the draft electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) face a "catch-22" situation, emphasising that no eligible citizen should be left out of the voters' list. The HC's Goa bench comprising Justices Valmiki Menezes and Amit Jamsandekar made the observation while hearing a petition filed by Goa resident Paresh Salgaonkar and his family members, who were omitted from the electoral rolls during the ECI's SIR exercise.
