India, April 29 -- The inauguration of the Ganga Expressway by Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks a major leap in Uttar Pradesh's infrastructure expansion. Spanning 594 km from Meerut to Prayagraj, it is the state's longest expressway and connects 12 districts across western, central, and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Designed to significantly improve road connectivity, the expressway is expected to cut travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from around 11 hours to nearly 6 hours. Average travel speeds are projected to rise from 50-60 kmph to around 100 kmph, making long-distance road travel faster and more efficient. The project also enhances freight movement and strengthens connectivity across key logistics corridors.
