Flash floods, landslides ravage J&K's Doda; Homes buried, highway blocked
India, July 7 -- Heavy rainfall triggered flash floods and massive landslides in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, causing widespread destruction, burying houses and shops under debris, and disrupting road connectivity in the mountainous region. Rescue teams have been deployed as authorities assess the extent of the damage.
The worst-hit areas include Thathri and Kashtigarh, where floodwaters and mudslides swept through residential settlements. Several vehicles were buried under debris, while homes, commercial establishments and public infrastructure suffered extensive damage. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
