India, May 26 -- A father and daughter were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between two cars, including a Mercedes, on the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district on Tuesday, police said.

According to officials, the accident occurred near Azhra village when a Volkswagen Polo reportedly entered the expressway from the wrong side and collided head-on with a Mercedes car travelling from Noida to Lucknow.

Police said Arvind Kumar (55) and his daughter Yamini (30), both residents of Chandausi, died on the spot in the crash. They were travelling in the Volkswagen Polo.
