India, Oct. 30 -- A 40-year-old man and his 11-year-old son died after falling from the balcony of their 23rd-floor apartment while plucking flowers for a religious offering at a residential society in Greater Noida West early Friday morning.

The incident took place at Mahagun Mywoods Society in Gaur City 2, under the jurisdiction of Bisrakh police station. The deceased were identified as Randeep Patra and his son Aarav, residents of Tower 23 of the residential complex.

According to police, the father and son had gone to the balcony to collect flowers for worship.

The family was scheduled to leave early in the morning for Khatu Shyam temple in Rajasthan.
