India, Oct. 24 -- On the surface, Vikrant Tomar's Instagram feed told the story of a young man who had already made it. Photographs showed him at high-end restaurants, lingering over expensive coffee, and stepping out of sleek luxury cars. To anyone scrolling past, the 23-year-old appeared to be a successful businessman living a carefully curated lavish life.

Delhi Police, however, allege that the images were part of a calculated deception used to befriend women constables, promise them marriage, and extract roughly Rs 24 lakh from nearly 20 of them.
