India, May 27 -- A major mishap was averted at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, after passengers onboard an IndiGo flight were evacuated following reports of smoke inside the aircraft during taxiing on Tuesday.

According to the airline, IndiGo flight 6E 6017 was scheduled to operate from Bengaluru to Chennai on 26 May 2026. The aircraft was taxiing toward the runway for departure when smoke was noticed inside the plane. Acting swiftly in the interest of passenger safety, the crew initiated an emergency evacuation procedure and informed all relevant airport and safety authorities.

The airline confirmed that all passengers and crew members were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported during the incident.
