India, July 1 -- Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday opened an interpretation centre at Patel Chowk station to create awareness about the ecological importance of the Delhi Ridge.

The Delhi Ridge Interpretation Centre has been set up to showcase the unique ecological features of the Delhi Ridge, often referred to as Delhi's "green lungs", and has been established in compliance with directions of the Supreme Court following recommendations of the Central Empowered Committee (CEC), the DMRC said in a statement.

The centre also aims to educate people about its role in maintaining the city's environmental balance.
