India, April 20 -- The Union Government has reportedly chosen senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Dinesh Trivedi as India's next High Commissioner to Bangladesh. Although the Ministry of External Affairs has not officially confirmed the appointment, the BJP announced Trivedi's appointment and congratulated him.

Senior BJP leader Amit Malviya publicly extended his wishes via social media. "Congratulations to Shri Dinesh Trivedi, senior BJP leader, former Union Minister and Barrackpore MP, for being appointed as India's High Commissioner to Bangladesh," BJP leader Amit Malviya said in a social media post on X.
