Diksha fires 69 to break into top-10 at AIG Women's Open
India, Aug. 1 -- Indian golfer Diksha Dagar continued her impressive run with a composed 2-under 69 in the opening round to move into a share of eighth place after the first day of the AIG Women's Open, the final women's Major of the season at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club.
The 25-year-old left-handed Indian, still chasing her first victory of the year despite a string of strong finishes, recovered from an early bogey with three birdies to position herself inside the Top-10.
Fellow Indian Aditi Ashok endured a difficult day, carding a 3-over 74 to finish tied for 75th and will need a much-improved second round to make the 36-hole cut.
