Delhi roads get a big boost
India, July 2 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the construction of a six-lane tunnel worth Rs 6,969.67 crore connecting Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj to the Shiv Murti interchange on Dwarka Expressway. The project, comprising a tunnel, flyovers and an elevated U-turn, will ensure seamless connectivity to Terminal 3 and Gurgaon and Dwarka Expressways for traffic travelling from Munirka and Chhattarpur, and vice versa. The proposal for the project has been in the making for more than five years. The 8.1-km road tunnel for NH-148AE will be constructed through Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), and the project is expected to be completed in five years.
