Delhi Police deploys 15,000 personnel, 200 paramilitary companies for BRICS Summit
India, Sept. 10 -- Delhi Police has put in place a multi-layered security system for the upcoming BRICS Summit, with around 15,000 personnel and 200 companies of paramilitary forces to be deployed across the national capital, a senior police officer said on Thursday.
More than 500 CCTV cameras, including 4K high-resolution, facial recognition and vehicle number plate-reading cameras, have also been installed to maintain round-the-clock surveillance of key areas, officials said.
Manish Kumar Agrawal, Special Commissioner of Police (Protective/Security Division), said the arrangements were aimed at ensuring maximum security for visiting dignitaries while causing minimum inconvenience to the public.
