India, May 21 -- With footfall increasing in the Delhi Metro, appropriate arrangements have been put in place to manage passenger movement, and services continued across the network in a safe and controlled manner.

On reports of chaos at some of the stations, Delhi Metro said that while temporary crowding at major interchange stations during peak periods is not uncommon in a high-capacity urban transit system, isolated commuter experiences or temporary crowding at interchange stations during peak hours cannot be construed as evidence of systemic planning failure.
