India, Oct. 9 -- Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, inaugurated the opening ceremony of the DDA Sports Cup (Hockey) at the Hockey AstroTurf of Yamuna Sports Complex on Thursday. The tournament is being organised in line with the vision of the Prime Minister's Fit India Movement, launched in 2019 to encourage people, particularly the youth, to make sports and fitness an integral part of their lives. The growing participation of young people in different sporting disciplines reflects this positive change.

The event was attended by MLA Vishwas Nagar, Om Prakash Sharma, and Vice Chairman, DDA, N Saravana Kumar, along with senior DDA officials, coaches, participating teams and young hockey players.
