India, July 28 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to explore adopting the Indore Municipal Corporation's waste management model on a pilot basis in one civic zone, while reviewing the Capital's preparedness on sanitation, waterlogging, vector-borne diseases and air pollution.

Chairing a high-level review meeting with the MCD Commissioner, additional commissioners and zonal deputy commissioners, the LG reviewed the status of solid waste management, garbage disposal, desilting of drains, waterlogging prevention and measures to curb dengue and malaria during the monsoon season.
