Delhi High Court upholds Rajpal Yadav's conviction in cheque bounce case, reduces jail term
India, July 10 -- The Delhi High Court on Friday upheld Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav's conviction in a cheque bounce case while reducing his jail sentence from six months to three months.
The court dismissed petitions filed by Yadav challenging his conviction under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, which deals with cheque dishonour cases. However, it granted partial relief by reducing the sentence awarded by the trial court.
The case stems from financial liabilities linked to a loan taken for the production of Yadav's directorial debut film.
