Delhi High Court grants Umar Khalid three-day Interim Bail for mother's surgery
India, May 22 -- The Delhi High Court has granted activist and former JNU student leader Umar Khalid a three-day interim bail in connection with the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The temporary relief was granted on humanitarian grounds to allow him to be with his mother during her medical treatment and surgery.
According to reports, the court permitted Khalid's release from June 1 to June 3 and imposed strict conditions during the bail period.
He has reportedly been instructed to remain within the National Capital Region (NCR), stay at his residence, and travel only for purposes related to his mother's treatment.
