India, July 15 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has removed over 10,000 Metric Tonnes (MT) of silt in a special desilting drive undertaken in Rohini area. Earlier, Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu had issued instructions to DDA to carry out the drive in the area, for benefit of residents of Rohini and adjoining areas.

The project covers a 4.095 km-long trunk drain consisting of 3 to 5 pipes in parallel having diameter of 2200 mm with a total underground pipe length of approximately 16.50 km with 75 inspection chambers.
