CWG 2026: Harjinder, Gulveer win Silver as India's medal count reaches 12
India, July 29 -- Weightlifter Harjinder Kaur and long-distance runner Gulveer Singh won silver medals for India at the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday, while three Indian boxers advanced to the semifinals to assure the country of at least three more medals.
Harjinder rewrote Commonwealth Games records in both the snatch and clean and jerk on her way to silver in the women's 69kg category, while Gulveer became the first Indian to win a Commonwealth Games medal in the men's 10,000m. India's medal tally rose to 12, including two gold, seven silver and three bronze medals, leaving the country ninth in the standings.
Australia led the medal table with 33 gold, 17 silver and 27 bronze medals for a total of 77.
