India, July 17 -- The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has strengthened its operational protocols in Manipur by making armoured vehicles mandatory for troop movement and deploying two battalions of its elite Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) as security concerns continue to rise in the state. The measures come amid renewed tensions involving Naga and Kuki groups and a series of attacks on security personnel in recent weeks.

According to officials, the revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) require personnel to use bulletproof vehicles even for routine administrative tasks such as transporting supplies.
