India, Oct. 22 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Wednesday strongly deplored the remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, accusing him of using the festival address to take "cheap shots" at political opponents and promoting divisive politics.

In a sharp statement issued by its National Secretariat, the Left party asserted that the Prime Minister, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), do not represent an inclusive and

integrated nation.
