India, July 28 -- State-owned CIL on Monday reported a 0.6 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 8,852.11 crore in the June quarter, aided by higher revenues.

The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 8,797.05 crore in the year-ago period, Coal India Ltd (CIL) said in a filing to the BSE. The consolidated revenue from operations during the first quarter rose 8 per cent to Rs 46,254.80 crore over Rs 42,919.20 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Total expenses of the coal behemoth rose to Rs 36,816.23 crore over Rs 32,903.19 crore in the year-ago period. The company's board had declared interim dividend of Rs 5.50 per equity share for 2026-27.
