India, Feb. 25 -- The Kerala High Court on Tuesday observed that the emails and messages allegedly sent by the CMO to officials highlighting the achievements of the State Government constituted an intrusion of privacy. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas made the oral observation while hearing a plea by Dr Rasheed Ahammed, an associate professor at a college in Malappuram, and Anil Kumar KM, a clerical assistant at the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram, who claimed that sending such messages amounts to an election campaign.

The court, however, did not issue an interim order as the State Government undertook not to send similar messages till February 27, the next date of hearing in the matter.
