India, May 14 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay chaired a high-level review meeting with finance department officials to assess the state's financial condition.

According to an official release, the meeting was held at the Secretariat in Chennai and attended by Chief Secretary T. N. Sai Kumar along with senior officials from the finance department.

The Chief Minister is understood to have reviewed the current fiscal situation in detail as the government prepares to release a "white paper" on the state's financial health.
