India, Oct. 31 -- Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday, October 30, confirmed that Danam Nagender will be the Congress party's candidate in the Khairatabad Assembly by-election, ending speculation over who would contest the seat.

The nomination remains subject to the outcome of a case pending before the Telangana High Court. The court has not yet delivered its verdict on a petition filed by P. Vijaya Reddy, a corporator from Khairatabad. The ruling could affect both Nagender's candidature and the prospects of the by-election itself.

Reddy made the announcement during an informal interaction with reporters in Delhi. He did not say when the by-election would be held.
