India, June 19 -- A man has been arrested in Chhattisgarh's Korea district after he allegedly assaulted his wife, shaved her head and forced her to drink urine, police said, following the circulation of disturbing videos of the incident on social media.

The incident reportedly took place on June 14 in Pandopara village, but came to light after the videos surfaced online, prompting police to register a case and intensify investigation.

According to officials, the woman initially filed a complaint on June 15, alleging that her husband, identified as Jitendra Ghasiya, assaulted her under the influence of alcohol. However, she did not initially disclose the full extent of the violence.
