India, June 13 -- A cashier was killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire inside a medical store in Chandigarh's Sector 11 on Saturday, triggering panic in the busy market area and prompting a major police investigation.

According to police, two masked assailants entered the medical store and fired multiple rounds before fleeing the spot. The victim, who was working as a cashier at the shop, sustained critical gunshot injuries and succumbed to them. CCTV footage from the area has captured the attack and is being examined by investigators.
