India, July 22 -- In a bid to end administrative confusion and facilitate smooth governance, the Ministry of Home Affairs has amended the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Act 1957 to align municipal zone names directly with the Capital's revenue districts.

According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the decision marks an important step towards making Delhi's administrative framework more streamlined, accessible and citizen-centric.

The Chief Minister said the amendment to the Fourteenth Schedule of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, by the Ministry of Home Affairs will help strengthen coordination between Delhi's revenue administration and the Municipal Corporation.
